Core Rules

Objective

Push the ball across your opponent's goal line. The goal spans the middle section of each short end.

Scoring

Goal counts the moment the ball fully crosses the line — even if it bounces back.

A ball crossing either goal line scores for that net's attacker — own goals count.

After each goal: ball returns to center, robots keep running, clock keeps running.

Match Length

3 min

Most goals wins. A tied score at 3 minutes is a draw.

Starting the Match

Press Button A once.

No touching your robot during the match unless the referee says so.

Ball Out of Bounds

Referee returns ball to center.

Clock keeps running

Robot Off the Field

Referee places robot at nearest edge, at center line, facing inward. Referee presses B to try to reset matchLoop. Robot must recover autonomously.

Clock keeps running

Robot Contact

Robot-to-robot contact is ALLOWED

Post-Match Protocol — Run After Every Match

1

Record Result

Write the final score in the bracket immediately. Announce the winning team and seed progression.

2

Acknowledgment

Each team delivers one data acknowledgment sentence using the prompt card on their table. Winning team goes first. Not "good game" — one sentence with a stat or number.

3

Dispute Window — 30 seconds

Any scoring concern must be raised now. Disputes require the scouting report or rules log as evidence. No evidence, no dispute. After 30 seconds, the result is locked.

4

Reset

Both teams return bots to starting positions. Non-competing teams may go to the Skills Arena. Announce the next match.

Dispute Resolution

Scoring
Point to the specific rule in the rules log. If the call contradicts it, the score is corrected. No rule cited → call stands.
Data
Point to the specific section of your scouting report with a different number. If you can show it, it's investigated. Can't show it → call stands.
Two Teams
Both teams write their calculation on paper. Read aloud. Find the first line that differs. The rules log or formula sheet is the authority. If unresolvable in 2 minutes: facilitator rules; result stands.
Late
Not accepted. The dispute window closed. The result stands.
